Our Motto: “All things ready, if the mind be so.” William Shakespeare
Mission Statement: Liberty Handgun Training is committed to providing our clients with the best, most relevant firearms training available, in a safe, comfortable, and positive learning environment.
Training Philosophy: Liberty Handgun Training is much more than a place to fulfill the State of Oregon’s requirement so you can apply for your Concealed Handgun License. Our general philosophy is to be practical and relevant. We do what works. We try to give our clients an understanding of what it might be like to use a firearm to defend their lives, and the skill set to do it effectively. This is the essence of all we do.
Your Senior Instructors: Matthew Boltz is a former Police Officer, SWAT team member, and Firearms Instructor. He worked the streets as a patrol Officer for 6 years, and was involved in countless, real world, tactical situations. After leaving Law Enforcement, his love for firearms instruction and training inspired him to begin teaching civilian defensive handgun classes, and subsequently, to create Liberty Handgun Training.
Danny James is a Former U.S. Navy SEAL (1996-2005). At age 29, he was one of the oldest SEAL trainees to pass all the requirements. His tactical knowledge and experience is vast. He has been deployed on many operations around the world and has trained elite military forces and tactical teams. Together, Matthew and Danny provide some of the best firearms training available.
When deciding where to train, just ask yourself one question. Do you want to learn to shoot paper targets or defend your life with a firearm?
Since we spend most of our waking hours
outside of our homes, it is not surprising
that most threats to our safety happen
there. We are at our most vulnerable when
outside of our homes, as we have little
control over who we encounter when in public
space.
Few
criminals wish to get into a fight with the intended
victim. Most desist and try to flee before the lawful
defender has even cleared the holster. Again, since
the perps can't tell who is armed ahead of time,
concealed carry affords a protective umbrella even
to those who go unarmed.
Because of the diligence with which the
lawful people conceal their side arms, we
seldom realize just how many Americans go
about their daily life armed and prepared.
Unlike the victims of crimes, people who
don't become victims don't appear in the
news headlines. As a result, the vast
improvement in the quality of life, the
ability to live without fear that comes with
going about protected are not as well
advertised as they should be.
